Bayern Munich veteran defender Rafinha has confirmed that he turned down potential switch to Premier League and La Liga during the summer transfer window.
The 32-year-old full-back has spent six campaign with the German champions after joining them from Serie A outfits Genoa back in 2011 and has won five Bundesliga titles, three German cups and a Champions League trophy during his time at Allianz Arena.
Rafinha has been linked a switch to Arsenal and Chelsea, and according to Sky sources, Bavarians rejected deadline day bid from the London duo.
Despite failing in a bid for the Brazil international, Antonio Conte secured the signing of Torino’s defender Davide Zappacosta for a reported £23m.
Meanwhile, Arsenal have signed Sead Kolasinac on a free transfer.
Rafinha, who has featured for Bayern seven times this campaign, has pledged his loyalty to his current club, however, dropped a hint that he might leave the club if won’t get enough time in the starting XI.
“Bayern’s bosses know I already had offers from England and Spain before the season started,” Rafinha told Sport Bild.
“I have Bayern in my heart and I always give 100 per cent, they can always count on me.
“Therefore, I think those responsible understand that I really want to play. Otherwise, I will have to think about my future.”
