Arsene Wenger Backed Arsenal's £110,000 A-Week Star to Become a Captain
Arsenal head-coach Arsene Wenger has tipped Welsh international midfielder, Aaron Ramsey, one day to become the Gunners skipper.
The 26-year-old midfielder has struggled with the injuries at Emirates Stadium in the recent year, but, appears to be approaching his best form, for Arsene Wenger’s side this term.
Ramsey is the second-longest serving player in the Gunners current squad after Walcott and Arsene Wenger has backed him to wear captains armband.
Wenger hinted that Welsh midfielder could be among the possible successors for German centre-back and current Arsenal captain Per Mertesacker, who will retire next summer to head up the Gunners youth academy.
“Why not?” the Arsenal manager said when asked if he could see Ramsey as club captain. “It is all there.
“He has the maturity, has improved technically and is more conscious of the importance of his technical qualities. His game is clean. He has a huge physical power.
“The target for him will be to have 30 games.”
For now, Wenger’s focus will be on tying down Aaron Ramsey with a new bumper deal with only two years remaining on his current deal.
Serie A giants Inter Milan are considering a swap deal for Arsenal superstar Mesut Ozil, according to the reports from Italy.
Inter Milan are ready to test the Gunners’ resolve and try to lure German playmaker away from Emirates Stadium.
Ozil looks set to leave the Gunners after failing to reach an agreement over a new bumper deal.
The German international rejected a new contract offer from Arsene Wenger’s side and is currently sidelined following the knee injury.
According to the Sunday Express, Inter Milan ready to secure his services during the January transfer window.
It’s believed that Italian heavyweights ready to offer Joao Mario in exchange of former Real Madrid playmaker.
The Gunners have been chasing the Portuguese starlet over a year, and the Frenchman might be keen on to agree on a swap deal and allow Ozil to leave the club in January.
The 24-year-old midfielder was a member of Portugal’s Euro 2016 winning squad.
However, he has enjoyed a mixed campaign in Serie A, and Inter are believed to be ready and sell Portuguese midfielder.
Ozil moved to north London from Real Madrid for £42m in 2013.
But the versatile attacker has often been criticised for failing to make an impact in important games.
Arsenal have joined the transfer battle over the signing of highly-rated Frenchman Harold Moukoudi, with Bordeaux RB Leipzig and Nice all interested in securing his services.
The 19-year-old is a highly-rated youth product from Le Havre academy and already being a part of U-18 France national team.
According to The Sun, French defender is attracting interest from Arsenal although it won’t be easy for Arsene Wenger to secure the services of Moukoudi with hosts of French clubs are also keen on to sign talented Frenchman.
Moukoudi has made nine appearances for Le Havre in Ligue 2 and host of European clubs are monitoring his game.
A tall, powerful centre-back who is also comfortable on the ball, he seems a good fit for the Premier League and modern-day football in general, while Arsenal could seemingly do with defensive reinforcements next summer.
With Per Mertesacker set to retire this summer Arsenal are seeking a long-term replacement for German Powerhouse and Moukoudi seems to be an ideal player for Arsene Wenger’s backline and French manager could splash money and sign him in January.
