Antonio Conte opens up about Tiemoue Bakayoko and his start to life at Chelsea following his move from Monaco
Antonio Conte believes that Tiemoue Bakayoko is gradually finding his best form for Chelsea this season.
The French midfielder was one of six new signings at Stamford Bridge during the summer transfer window as Conte moved to significantly bolster his squad following their title triumph last term.
Bakayoko, who signed from Monaco, missed the first few games of the season with a minor knee problem but he is now working his way back to full fitness for Conte’s side.
And the Chelsea manager says that he has been very encouraged by what he has seen from Bakayoko in recent weeks as he continues to adapt to life at the Premier League club.
Blues boss Conte told a news conference on Tuesday at Cobham: “Baka now has started to play. I think he is playing very well.
“Don’t forget last season he finished the season with surgery in his knee. Now he is in a good physical condition.
“He is starting to adapt himself in our style of football. I am pleased because I think these are good signs for us.”
Chelsea return to Premier League action on Saturday afternoon when they take on Stoke City at the bet365 Stadium.
The west London side are aiming to bounce back to winning ways in the top flight, after having been held to a frustrating goalless draw by Arsenal at Stamford Bridge last weekend.
Chelsea made a successful return to the Champions League last week when the Blues secured a thumping 6-0 win over Qarabag in their group stage opener at Stamford Bridge.
